Review
Another outstanding Chenier disc on Arhoolie, this collection has as its centerpiece a session that zydeco accordion player Chenier did in 1973 with guitarist Elvin Bishop ("Fooled Around and Fell in Love") and his piano player Steve Miller (not the Steve Miller). This set of Chenier originals has a distinctly blues rock edge and includes many tunes that were mainstays in Chenier's live shows, like "The Hucklebuck" and "Zydeco Cha Cha." This collection finishes with three cuts from a 1971 KSAN radio broadcast and one remake of Chenier's drunken ode to love "I'm a Hog for You" from another 1971 San Francisco recording session. Yet another example of why he was truly "The King of Zydeco." --Robert BairdAnother outstanding Chenier disc on Arhoolie, this collection has as its centerpiece a session that zydeco accordion player Chenier did in 1973 with guitarist Elvin Bishop ("Fooled Around and Fell in Love") and his piano player Steve Miller (not the Steve Miller).
