A new full-length from Seattle's shadowy Climax Golden Twins, responsible for the OST recording of Session Nine (Milan Records; film released by USA Films). This new album finds CGT in a quieter and less threatening mood, with 11 mostly acoustic songs layered with field recordings, electronics, strange instruments and ambience. Interspersed are the hazy voices of the dead - recordings from the `30s and `40s of people talking, telling stories, singing and joking. Highly Bred & Sweetly Tempered pulls together many threads: Americana, 78rpm records, foreign music, collage, and computer-generated textures/manipulation.
