Review

Marc Nugyen Tan is the Parisian Prince of Icy Class. Using his Pseudonym Colder, "Heat" is his Second Suite of Electronic Lullabies. It's a Peerless Collection of Electro/Acoustic Songs, Combining Elements of Electro, Dub, Noise, and Elegant Pop, all Coated in a Dense, Smoky Haze of Sophistication and Restraint that Could Only have Come from France. Nguyen is Inspired More by a Sense of Love and Loss Than the Unconditional Crazy Love, the Basis of his Debut Album "Again". "Heat" is Complete with the Dark Grooves and Shimmery Textures that Made "Again" So Stunning and Draws on a More Diverse Range of Influences with his Trademark Robotic Digifunk Evolving Into a More Pulsing, Upbeat and Varied Beast. Methodical, but Less Linear and More Emotive Than Ever Before, "Heat's" Strength is that it Doesn't Try to Tap Into Any Particular Vogue. It Sounds Like Colder, Nothing Else.
