David Leinweber's new CD Sunday Morning Favorites features some of the great hymns of the faith in a distinctively traditional piano style. Drawing on his own Methodist and Baptist roots, Leinweber's easy-going, worshipful style of piano is sure to please people who grew up in traditional Christian homes, as well as people who just enjoy relaxed, meditative piano-playing.

Sunday Morning Favorites highlights some of Leinweber's favorite hymns from his boyhood, including signature offerings like "Near the Cross," "The Old Rugged Cross," and "Be Thou My Vision." It draws on a variety of influences, including the old Victorian "parlour" style of piano, and the traditional "chord-melody" phrasing that often characterized piano music in the old country Churches. In general, Leinweber cites an eclectic mix of musical influences, ranging from classical music, to Floyd Cramer, to Cat Stevens, to classic Southern rock, and gospel.
