Review

One of Japanese Progressive rock masterpieces of the late Eighties is now reissued by Musea with two bonus tracks ! "Baroque In The Future" is the only album by DEJA VU, something that doesn't prevent the trio (Keyboards, bass-vocals & drums) to have an amazing technique that can go beyond that of EMERSON, LAKE & PALMER, to which it owes a lot. However, its music proves more symphonic, more refined and structured, less demonstrative and without the classical references. Including a variety of keyboards sounds (Piano, synthesisers, harpsichord, organ…), Motoï SAKURABA's art is at the same time very technical, beautifully melodic, harmonically rich and inventive. The band leader can create with success several ambiences, dynamic, precious, lyrical and impressive themes and developments. Very orchestrated and full of refined sounds, this amazing music can sometimes exceed UK and YES on the level of invention. To be rediscovered !
