Review

"I don't have my finger on the pulse of my generation / I just got my hand on my heart," sings Justin Currie on "Not Where It's At," the opening song from Del Amitri's fourth album. The line and the song adequately sum up this Scottish band's plaintive sound; guitars with a gentle twang and a singer who is not afraid to show off his emotional vulnerability. Derisive lyrics occasionally spoil the melancholy tones of songs like "Mother Nature's Writing" and "High Times." --Aidin Vaziri
