Pacific Northwest jazz guitarist Eric skye weaves a thoroughly impressive work of eloquently stated standard tunes with markedly original arrangements and impressive technique. The steel string acoustic guitar in a solo setting yields a articulate and dynamic presence with piano-like sophistication and warmth. Many tracks feature the guitar simultaneously holding down the duties of both soloist and bassist, sounding at times like two fine players interacting effortlessly with each other.
