the long-awaited sophomore effort from san-francisco based neo-soul group Five Point Plan, entitled "rare", is a superb showcase of the band's growth over the last three years. "rare" is packed with eleven gems of indisputable value. from the title-track "rare" it is obvious that the intent of this collection is to set Five Point Plan apart from the pretenders. with silky, love-inspiring grooves that don't quit, to ethereal yet funky jams fit to space out to, Five Point Plan has created a polished soundscape with a versatility of songs.

Five Point Plan moves gracefully from gospel-imbued jazz to drum-n-bass tinged pop, redefining and reshaping the term "neo-soul" to fit their needs.
