Review

FONYA is an American Progressive rock band led by multi-instrumentist Chris FOURNIER. Sometimes accompanied by his brother Phil on vocals, he plays an interesting music built on keyboards sequences and guitar parts, a bit in the way of DJAM KARET or EDHELS. The sixth album called "Upper Level - Open Space" (1999) performs an ethereal, suggestive and picturesque music, thanks to beautiful melodies. The result is a kind of instrumental music situated between Progressive rock and new-age. Meditative and dynamic at the same time, it sometimes reminds PINK FLOYD, TANGERINE DREAM or Mike OLDFIELD. Not to be missed !
