Review

On his Innerhythmic debut, and among Innerhythmic's initial releases is the legendary James Blood Ulmer. Although best known for his work with harmolodics and Ornette Coleman, Blue Blood finds him returning to his Southern Roots and sensibilities and playing some hard, raw blues in a style that only he can claim. Along with a stellar cast of producer Bill Laswell, P-Funk warriors Bernie Worrell and Jerome "Bigfoot" Brailey and gospel great Amina Claudine Myers, Blood delivers something for both his dedicated jazz fans and also serves as an excellent introduction to new listeners. James Blood Ulmer has developed an art which is virtuostic and experimental in the great tradition of Jazz, yet retains the emotional authenticity of Rock and Blues. His own, very unique sound continues push the boundaries of genre bending music.Features stellar lineup of P-Funk originals Jerome 'Bigfoot' Brailey and Bernie Worrell. Produced by the legendary Bill Laswell and amongst the debut releases of his new label. Harmolodic guitar wizard's first solo studio album in three years. Includes cover version of Erykah Badu's 'On And On'. Nine tracks. Digipak. 2001 release.
