Review

The debut release from Jane Crowe & Blues Inc., "Electric Blue Echoes" (Tarantula Ranch Music, July, 2002), charts new territory for the band and displays remarkable growth since their self-titled demo of just a few short months ago. "Taking the extra time during pre-production—as well as the mixing and mastering of this CD— made a huge difference in this recording," comments Jane Crowe, lead singer of the band. "I truly believe that Ken (Triphan, engineer and co-producer) was able to capture the raw, live energy of the band, and the results can definitely be heard throughout."

With ten new originals (including fan favorites Back For More, Born With The Right, Carousel, Feel It, and Turning Blue) and four covers (such as Willie Dixon's Little Red Rooster, B.B. King's Rock Me, and a heavily rearranged version of Sonny Boy Williamson's Good Morning Little School Girl), the new disc offers up a pleasing variety of tunes in several related genres. From the classic blues to '60s-styled psychedelia to its own take on blues rock, the band indelibly stamps each and every song with their distinctive trademark sound.

The band is also pleased that the new disc is getting radio airplay on two local Tucson stations, KCMT 101.9 FM and KXCI 91.3 FM. Recent shows for special events sponsored by Harley Davidson have added to their exposure locally.
