Review
Originally released in England as Jimmy Cliff, this album contained some of the best material of Cliff's career. By itself, "Many Rivers to Cross," with its soulful, churchy feel, would have been enough to put him in the history books. Add the very political "Vietnam," the hopeful title track, and you had a reggae classic. The other material only suffers in comparison to those three standouts, really, but almost anything would. While the film 'The Harder They Come' would really bring him international recognition, this truly put him on the musical map. --Chris Nickson
