Review

Characterized by its subtle and open style of composition, 4 at 18 is the first disc in a series structured in part by time and symmetry.

4 at 18 is John's second release and shares the same minimal but discerning approach to composition that was so well received in his debut album, Immersion.

As a whole, 4 at 18 lends itself to a meditative, trance-like somnambulance that is at once mellow, rich and warm -- or perhaps, more like a warm ember slowly cooling.
