U.K. trip-hop outfit Massive Attack's collaborations with reggae's singing angel Horace Andy was a great idea; matching another fine and neglected reggae vet, Junior Delgado, with a mixed bag of U.K. remixers and producers is an even cannier move. Pure genius, in fact. Delgado's passionately gritty vocals--new voicings of his anthemic classics, plus 2 Marleys--get the drama they deserve from these cutting-edge mixing board tinkers, with no weak links marring the 13 cuts. In fact, these opulent hip-hop-meets-electronica tracks present Delgado's bombastic style more handsomely than reggae's visceral, laid- back lope, as do his "combinations" (duets) with U.K. MCs. In short, this set goes out to all reggae, hip-hop, trip-hop, dance, and electronica-heads and shows them a way to breathe new life into the careers of foundation rockers. --Elena Oumano
