Review

An arsenal of spray-painted computers and Thai leftovers follow the three merry-men of K-RAD like bad body odor. Using computer software originally designed to score 16-bit video games for the Commodore 64 descended Amiga computers, K-RAD has blatantly shunned the non-human and sterile world of laptop IDM in favor of a more rank and real basement "electronica." This working method enables them to create tracks faster than most people type emails, resulting in a stunning music catalog that is a testament to the value of uninhibited artistic creation. On Deli Mood Spot, the group's official debut (though, including cd-r's, something like their 14th full length album), they lob booty-knockin beats, sampling and electronic jibber-jabber that kicks you were it hurts without all the pretension of most tech-based musicians.

The records flows in an amalgamation of news room techno, animated idm chases, late-night re-run trip hop and all-temperature after-school ambience. Repressed jingles tickle your brain cells as they pass through the stereo field, teetering on the fence of (non)recognition. 10 dark, funky, fark and dunky tracks flesh out this crispy crunchy, Son of Svengoolie, Mario Bros. tabloid kinda record with each track having its own special place on the dance floor.
