Review

Many of you (especially if you live in Detroit) have probably seen and heard Karen Newman sing and just haven't realized it.... she is the girl who sings the national anthem at all of the Detroit Red Wings home hockey games..... "the Red Wings own Karen Newman!" as she is introduced when she walks on the ice at Joe Louis Arena. Karen is one of the finest vocalists in Detroit. Her voice (and "personal likeness") is used in many of the major advertisements that are produced in Detroit (THINK FORD FIRST!!!). She was also one of the background vocalists for Bob Seger's 1997 World Tour. This is her first solo record. The sound is reminiscent of many of the popular modern female artists.... Paula Cole, Sarah McLachlan, Alanis Morrisette, but yet truly distinctive in her own way.
