Review

KINDRED is proud to announce the release of their first CD Recording, CELTIC FLAIR. It is an exciting collection of original songs, fiddle tunes, and classic Celtic standards. With Felicia Meyer's incredible voice and guitar, and Dave Meyer's versatile Cello Playing, the duo, KINDRED, bring to life both old and new music in the Celtic Style.

The CD has 12 tracks featuring original songs written by Felicia such as the haunting Song of Wandering Aengus, based on a poem by W.B. Yeats, and Soaring Song with words by Felicia's Father, Richard L Miller. They keep things bouncy when Dave gives fiddle players a run for their money by playing traditional fiddle tunes on his cello, aided by Felicia's driving guitar and bodhran playing. Rounding out the performance is Kindred's take on classics such as The Water is Wide, He Moved Through the Fair, Molly Malone, and Down by the Salley Gardens. You have not heard Danny Boy until you've heard Felicia sing it in a live recording from the Hochstein Music School in Rochester, NY. Guest Musicians on the recording include: Ars Nova String Quartet, the Dady Brothers (octave mandolin and ueillian pipes), Mitzie Collins (hammer dulcimer), Laurie Hart (fiddle), and Roxanne Zeigler (harp).
