Review

Lisa Atkinson's latest release is a smart, whimsical, and infectious collection of songs about animals. Written in a variety of musical styles, it contains silly tales of animal adventures (Katie the Kangaroo, The Boy and the Bear), storytelling folk songs (Celia Says, Whisperville Mtn), gently joyful songs (Puppy Kisses, Six Tiny Spiders), along with a medley of familiar tunes in sing-along style (Old MacDonald). Interwoven throughout the tunes are the common threads of family and community.
