Review

Gems is a collection of songs from two of Mari's previous albums, "No Limit" and "Right Now". Mari herself selected total ten songs, featuring very melodic notes that are extremely soothing and encouraging to listen to. In today's world, pop and rock artists are often based on looks, fashion, how hip they are, and advertising, but many of their songs have almost no meaning or foundation to them. This is not the case for Mari Iijima's Gems. The lyrics are very powerful, and can get you feeling all sorts of different emotions, and with the help of band members from legendary rock group Toto, they really seal this album in. Now with this album, you are getting some of the best music available, and the songs are simply breathtaking. Also included is a brand new track from Mari entitled "Unspeakable", which is so beautiful.
