The American Music Club frontman delivers an elegant, unexpected solo debut that echoes Prefab Sprout's pop perfection. Adult consumers in search of smarts and sophistication will find both in Eitzel, who writes like a slumming angel and gets a quasi-jazz backing from string bass, piano, percussion and Mark Isham's trumpet.
