Review

Michael Kelly Blanchard's latest project, "In From the Cold", has new storysongs, Song Altars, and anthems. Titles like "God in Grandma's Eyes", "It'll All Come Back", "Mercy on the Wind", and "While You Wait" give you a small taste of the story to come. The title cut, "In From the Cold" glimpses three different scenarios where warmth is sought. There is also a funny, family tune about middle age entitled "Pear". Once again, Don Potter has done a masterful job of producing. The arrangements are hauntingly beautiful and/or upbeat and memorable. Greta, Michael's wife, sings the background vocals, and Michael's acoustic intergrity has been vitally preserved.
