Review

Despite the high level of performance and commitment Paynter demanded of all his musicians, he never lost sight of the original purposes of this particular ensemble: to provide an opportunity for talented amateur adult musicians to perform music of the highest quality, and to present this music to the public, reaffirming the place of the community band in American culture. This recording celebrates a forty year history of the Northshore Concert Band under the direction of John P. Paynter.
