Review
Heaven knows there's no shortage of good, nerdy guitar pop in the world, but that shouldn't dissuade fans of Possum Dixon from stating their preference for the L.A.-based band that nabbed its oddball name from a fugitive on America's Most Wanted. The group's best songs contain a witty, wise-guy lyrical sensibility, while the music throbs with punk/surf-style intensity. Maybe it's not music for the ages, but raging, smart-ass rockers like "Emergency's About to End," "Go West," "Crashing Your Planet," and "Skid Marks" still sound just fine. --Daniel Durchholz
