Review

Excellent condition, includes the original CD, case, and paperwork, First Class shipped, ask me for my CD List! :)Pure Sugar's lead singer, Jennifer Starr, looks like a bodacious, sexy, lollipop vixen. Images of her in everything from Lolita-esque pigtails to black lingerie are scattered all over the blindingly neon-bubble-gum-colored liner notes. At first glance one might expect Starr's talents to be as saccharine and artificial as truckload of little pink packets. So what a delight it is to play this CD and discover that Starr has a voice as powerful, soulful, and commanding as any diva sitting in the highest court. Her vocals are highly reminiscent of Lords of Acid's Jade 4U, but smoother. Pure Sugar is 100 percent pure dance music presented in a variety of flavors. From straight-ahead disco to house and jungle, there's something here that all dance-floor devotees can suck on like a bag full of fruit-flavored hard candy. This album is fun, substantive, and won't rot your teeth, so indulge and have a ball. --Beth Bessmer
