Review

Rebecca Sayres musicality is present throughout "This is Always" as her buttery vocals float and swing over a brilliant rhythm section which includes veteran pianist, Beegie Adair and well-known guitarist, Pat Bergeson. Ths disc also features tenor saxophonist, Jeff Coffin blowing some stirring lines on tracks 5 and 6. Rebecca tastefully combines intensity and subtlety, intonation and expression, with respectful attention to melody and lyric. On "This is Always", she explores a rich sweep of jazz classics including a few gems not often heard in modern recordings. This is Always has a wonderfully relaxed feel that will leave you smiling.
