Just when you've heard everything the record industry and the Great Jazz Vocal Revival has to offer (and you've given up hope for real spontaneity and creativity) comes this little gem of an album by Rita di Ghent. Rita here reveals her many vocal influences in a traditional set of standards and originals reinterpreted in a unique fashio all her own, and shows us the tender heart of a romantic in the process. This luscious, sensuous and swinging album was runner-up for Best Album of the Year in the 2002 National Jazz Awards.
