Rockwell Church's fifth album, harnesses the energy and spirit of Rockwell Church in their moment. It represents their most accomplished and inspiring work to date - the album broaches new songwriting and arrangement frontiers for the duo while boasting trademark Rockwell Church melodies, harmonies and diverse instrumentation. Songs like "Kool-Aid Man" and "Chemical" visit themes of love and loss. "Second Door" relives an encounter with domestic abuse. "Star Over South Africa" is a solemn ode to an acquaintance killed in the post-apartheid violence before Nelson Mandela's release from prison. Antidote is passionate and moving throughout, at times joyous, at others mournful. It is the elegant signature of a band that has arrived.
