Review

With a feeling for unusual melodies and fanciful sound atmospheres, Simon Collins pulls his listeners into his spell. Born in London, Simon moved to Vancouver at 8 and lives there still. As early as the age of 5, his dad showed him how too play drums and by 14 Simon was drumming in various bands in and around Vancouver. He then taught himself how to play piano and guitar, and by the time he was 16 he was already composing his own material. Simon's 2000 debut LP did well in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. For the past four years Simon recalls, 'I spent some time writing material for the new LP and working with various producers on potential songs but the results never satisfied me, thus I decided to take the production into my own hands'. With Time for Truth Simon presents his second album which shows him not only as a songwriter and singer but as a producer and multi-instrumentalist. The album features 12 total tracks including 'Reason', 'Sunburn', 'Awesome Machinery', 'Mirror' and the title track.
