Review

Jazz Report's "Blues Album of the Year," 1993. Nominated for a Juno for "Best Blues/Gospel Recording," 1993.

Chris and Ken Whiteley have spent over 25 years performing, writing, and recording roots music. Among the most respected musicians in Canada, they have worked with the likes of Leon Redbone, John Hammond Jr., and Blind John Davis.

On "Bluesology", The Whiteley Brothers take you on a musical journey through the land of the blues. From "Before This Time" to "Wee Wee Baby," Ken and Chris cover everything from jugband music to classic blues, Chicago-style blues, west coast r& b, and contemporary urban blues. The two play more than twenty instruments on this recording, including acoustic, electric, and slide guitar, piano, mandolin, accordion, trumpet, harmonica, kazoo, washtub bass, and washboard.

Featuring Al Cross, Laurie Bower, John Johnson, Colin Linden, Terry Wilkins, Gene Taylor, Dennis Pendrith, Dan Whiteley, Bucky Berger, Sarah McElcheran, Margo Davidson, Dick Smith, and Jackie Richardson.
