Review
Moody, atmospheric melodies and equally emotive vocals haunt much of Nadie Esta Solo, the gripping third disc from Italian singer Tiziano Ferro. Gorgeous ballads glide against more uptempo tracks, and it makes for an alluring mix. First single "Stop! Olvidate" is an effortless blend of electrified vocals and menacing beats, while "Y Raffaella Es Mia" is a slinky tribute to a renowned opera diva. '80s-inspired grooves and retro rhythms flavor much of Nadie Esta Solo, most notably during "Baciano Le Donne." Ferro presides over it all with a quiet, charismatic, confidence; he's equal parts Alejandro Sanz, Eros Ramazzotti and Robbie Williams (without so much cheekiness). It's all quite good, but Ferro shines brightest amid the lovely light of "Mio Fratello" and "Mi Credo," a misty duet with Mexican singer Pepe Aguilar included as a bonus track. --Joey Guerra
