Review

Three years in the making, the 'Fathers of Reggae' project is UB40 returning to their roots & taking a back seat whilst original legends from the reggae industry take turns behind the mic. The resultant set is fourteen UB40 tracks with the band themselves as backing band & array of stars giving their own interpretations. Furthermore, the final mixing of the album was done by some of the hottest producers & engineers in Jamaican music right now. Sly & Robbie, Danny Brownie, Steely & Clevie, Fatta & Bulby were all involved adding a final sheen of authenticity to the project. 2002.A Very Special Album Where the UK Reggae Band Pays Homage to the Men who Inspired them in their Success. All the Living Greats of Reggae have Been Recorded Performing Ub40 Orginals and Fronting the Band: Gregory Isaacs, the Mighty Diamonds, Max Romeo, Ken Boothe, Leroy Sibbles (Of the Heptones), John Holt, Toots Hibbert (Of Toots and the Maytals), Freddie Mcgregor and More. The Album was Recorded in Jamaica, with Final Mixes by Even More Legends: Sly and Robbie, Danny Brownie, Fatta and Bulby and Steely and Clevie! a True Act of Love and Devotion to the Style that Distinguishes them all and Highlights them Aside from the Rest of the Pop Music World.
