"As a songwriter, Yasmine White wears her heart on her sleeve ... and her quickly mind and her ever-lovin' soul, as well. Right out there. She makes no secret of it: Life, hers and ours, is a ride that bumps along and bruises us, a thing that bears down on us like the boogie man and, often enough, leaves us shaken and just wondering. Hearing her songs, we know she knows, herself and ourselves.

But there's more: the quiet comfort of fingertips, the eventual recognitions of love, the laughable ironies ... that, too, is the life we carry about. There's no easy sentiment here, though. The wisdom, the lyric-words are hard-won. And sometimes there's no winning to make a song of, only a loss, or a consternation. But, whether she's taking us up or down, Yasmine's care for truthful language is evident in every one of her songs. As a musician, Yas gives her voice the smoothest of pipes to run in, out to the wide edge of her range without a hint of strain. Whether in company with her spare, precise and always appropriate guitar work (and, on several numbers, with skillful violin and bass accompaniment, as well) or a cappella, she is at ease in her voice, and a sweet clarity is the result. As well, the tunes she's written are fresh and memorable. I'd bet that every song she sings would get votes as someone's favorite."
