Review

An essential for Yellowman heads, this nine-track set corrals some of the hard-working reggae rhymster's finest musical moments. Stateside reggae purists view him as the "anti-Bob," the salacious jokester who piloted reggae's nosedive into its sex and drum machine- driven dancehall phase after Bob Marley's death. But One in a Million proves that the albino orphan who captivated the early 1980s reggae scene is one of the music's seminal mic rockers. The delightfully sly and sexy "Morning Ride" is a paradigm of reggae toasting style. "Operation Eradication" hits like a bulletin from the front in the ongoing war between corrupt police and ghetto sufferas.
