Remastered reissue of 1969 album. Few musicians in jazz encompassed such a wide range of colors and textures as Yusef Lateef. A Pioneer of the fusion of Eastern music with jazz, he incorporated instruments from all over the world to his music. Here, backed by a quintessential groove team including Richard Tee on piano and session drummer Bernard Purdie, as well as vocal backgrounds by Sweet Inspirations, he works with a string section, incorporating world and rock rhythms and experimenting with voices.
