Review

"Hokane" is a 48-page, 4-color, 6"x8" hardbound book containing musical and visual short stories written, performed, and drawn by Aki Tsuyuko, and it's the first in a series of books to be released by Touch And Go. Upcoming artists in the series include Daniel Higgs and Thomas Campbell. On this release, Aki plays organ and sings; her delicate vocals and melodies are exotic and whimsical. She's a frequent collaborator with Nobukazu Takemura, in addition to Tortoise, Arto Lindsay, Jim O'Rourke, Sonic Youth, and Yo La Tengo.
