Review

About CALEDON WOOD CD:Following AL Petteway's recent WAMMIE wins for "Best Contemporary" and "Best New Age" instumentalist (Washington Area Music Association, Washington D.C.USA), Petteway continues to expand his sonic scope. Here he brings contemporary rhythms and jazzy moods to his original compositions and traditional Celtic sources. Al's solo acoustic guitar is featured, with guest musicians Amy White on piano, mandolin and ashiko drum, Anderson Allen on congas and percussion, Eric Rigler on uilleann pipes, Bonnie Rideout on viola, Abby Newton on cello, Maggie Sansone on hammered dulcimer and Debi Smith on bodhran. Special note: Eric Rigler is world famous Highland, Irish Uillianne Piper heard on soundtrack to BraveHeart, Titantic and more! Includes Celtic-inspired compositions "Caledon Wood", "Maggie's Reel", "Sligo Creek", traditional Scottish tunes "Jock O'Hazeldean", "Fy to the Hills in the Morning" and original compositions "Funky C", "Funky Do", "Evolution II" and "Sun Dog".
