Debut album originally released in 1964, Spirits is Albert Ayler in his prime mid-sixties period, recorded in NYC in February 1964. Features Sunny Murray on drums, bassist Henry Grimes and trumpeter Norman Howard. Digipak. Breathless Records. 2005.Recorded with his Classic Quintet Line Up at Atlantic Studios in New York City, February 1964. For the Occasion, Ayler Recruited Some of the Finest Jazz Giants: The Album, Originally Released on Debut, features Norman Howard, Henry Grimes and Sunny Murray with an Appearance on Bass by Earle Henderson.
