Review
From Astralwerks, the enhanced single 'Where's Your Head At?'. This special package demonstrates the versatility of the Jaxx sound with a broad range of quality mixes. The original album version features vocals by Damien Peachey, & backing yells from New Jersey Mongoloids Junior Sanchez, Erick Morillo & Michael Moog. 2 versions of 'Where's Your Head At?' are provided by The Stanton Warriors on track 2. The 'Sounds of Da Future' remix, suggestive of Carnival in Haiti, is a bells and whistles excursion into garage with a voodoo twist and a Lalo Schifrin-like flourish that adds a suggestion of menace. Other highlights include the 'Jaxx Night Dub' with its breathy female vocal, industrial noise and a hook so dirty it sounds like it was recorded in a swamp. John Ciafone from Mood 2 Swing supplies the 'John Ciafone Dub', a minimally crafted homage to Detroit.
