Review

San Franciscoâs The Black Furies have been knockinâ âem dead for years now. In fact, Death Trip Saturday Night this the bandâs third full-length release, but their first for Gearhead. Expertly recorded and mixed at Take Root Studios in SF and mastered by John Golden, the 12 tracks on this CD are sure to appeal to fans of Turbonegro and The Hellacopters. After seeing a barrage of shows around the Bay Area, supporting everyone from old school bands like The Dickies, Angry Samoans and D.O.A. to contemporary faves like The Supersuckers, The Bronx, The Briefs and Throw Rag, Gearhead Records just had to sign these local showstoppers. The total rock onslaught that is The Black Furies live set hasnât been ignored by the local press either, as San Joseâs Zero magazine said: âLoud and Fast, 100% Rockâ and that just about sums it up perfectly.
