As the 60's drew to a close, Auger felt the need to move on and the new decade led to a new band - The Oblivion Express - and through the early 70's they forged a new jazz/rock sound that laid the foundations for acid jazz. Straight Ahead was the follow up to the seminal Closer To It. Includes a fantastic version of Wes Montgomery's 'Bumpin' On Sunset'. Steve Ferrone, Jack Mills and Barry Dean Joined for the Proceedings that were Heavily Influenced by Afro-caribbean Rhythms, it features a Superb Rendition of Wes Montgomery's Jazz Classic, `bumpin' on Sunset' Amongst Its Five Extended Slices of Jazz-rock and Funk. Includes the Bonus Track "Straight Ahead", Recorded Live in Denver.
