Buddy Greenes 1996 studio recording Minstrel Of The Lord is his first since the 1991 Gospel Music Association Dove Award-winning Country Album Of The Year Sojourners Song.Buddy assembled a stellar cast of Nashvilles most renowned acoustic players and entrusted the producing chore to multi-Grammy Award winning Jerry Douglas, the worlds premiere dobro virtuoso. The band included super-pickers Don Potter and Russ Barenbeg, brilliant bassists Craig Nelson and Danny OLannerghty, The Tony Rice Units extraordinary mandolin / fiddle player Ricky Simpkins and fabled drummer Kenny Malone. John Darnall arranged, produced and performed on several tunes. The singers are equally as special: magnificent, intimate beauty from Kelly Willard, the powerful street edge of Ashley Cleveland, the infectious impact of Julie Miller, the familiar, haunting beauty of the Whites Sharon Skaggs and Cheryl White, and the down-home authenticity of The Nashville Bluegrass Bands Alan OBryant.They beautifully compliment Buddy Greenes compelling vocals.
