Review

C'est Mortel's debut release features two "sets," the 32-minute "Your Misfortune Is Our Mirth" and the 39-minute "Magnum Opus." Both tracks exhibit C'est Mortel's trademark of long instruments with unique themes within the set. Each set is meant to be listened to in its entirety; however, C'est Mortel accommodates our remote control society by subdividing each set into tracks to mark identifiable beginnings and ends of themes.

C'est Mortel was recorded by Matt Goldman at Glow in the Dark Studios in Atlanta, and was released by Two Sheds in September 2002.
