Hailing from Kansas City, Missouri the home of such great jazz legends as Charlie Parker and Count Basie, Carol Duboc could not help but be influenced. A singer/ songwriter / producer and arranger with many gold and platinum CDs to her credit, Carol has combined the soul of r&b with the complex harmonies and freedom that come with jazz. This CD entitled, "With All That I Am", came from a concept Carol had to approach r&b as a jazz singer. Both the writing and the performances are improvisational. Most of the vocals on this CD were sung live with her trio and the great string and horn arrangements give this CD a rich exciting sound. There are also guest performances by artists Hubert Laws, Gerald Albright, and Wayne Johnson, among others. Many of the songs were actually written while improvising. Carol calls it "Urban Jazz".
