Review
Cerberus Shoal's latest effort, The Land We All Believe In, shines with the same confidence and unique execution that left those fortunate enough to have seen the band live in the last year and a half speechless. A sometimes political, sometimes humorous, sometimes spiritual amalgam of skewed pop, the offerings on The Land catapult listeners through every shade of possible emotion within the environment of our present global situation while still appeasing the melodic and rhythmic desire of their ears.
Imagine The Pixies and John Lennon being asked to do a soundtrack composed and conducted by Sonic Youth and Robert Smith (circa 1984) for a movie about William S. Burroughs, directed by David Lynch and Jim Jarmusch and written by Fredy Perlman's ghost as channeled by Franz Kafka's inner child.
