Review

Czar's self-titled album is a perfect example of ''made in the UK'' prog with blues/psych leanings. The opening track is the magnificent 'Tread Softly On My Dreams', featuring a mellotron and smoldering guitar. 'Cecelia', another of the album's gems, puts one vaguely in mind of Blossom Toes, while 'Follow Me' is a psychedelic tour de force. Czar were among prog's pioneers, putting to work lessons learned by the Beatles, King Crimson, Moody Blues and the more underground Arzachel. This extreme rarity is always at the top of collector's must have-lists. 2006.
