My Vortex Camera is the third volume of David Garland's Control Songs series. "Just as 'love songs' address the fundamental motivating force of love from many perspectives," says Garland, "so my Control Songs view from various angles--happy, sad, funny, ironic--another fundamental force: our need to believe that we have control over our lives."
