Review

it is a mix of southern black gospel harmonies with folk rock melodies and lyrical honesty. The tracks are sparsely produced without studio tricks and with a live feel. Songs are driven by acoustic guitar and beautiful vocals all performed by Byrd. Byrd Combines the styles of Aaron Neville, Dan Fogelberg, and Ben Harper with a touch of Americana and spirituality making this recording a very vulnerable and real addition to any collection. It contrasts markedly with the pop trends; instead of layering the songs with all kinds of instruments, Byrd chooses to remain sparse and simple which is very refreshing. Buy this cd and find this artist before the record companies do!
