Tokyo trio Guitar Wolf have created the loudest punk-rock album in the world: amps left on permanent overload, distortion spilling over till its almost unbearably intense. Jet Generation, the sixth album from these frenzied, artless noise terrorists, is sexy, manic, and totally extreme. It takes the screw-you, hemorrhage-inducing rock of the early Ramones and the New York Dolls to its logical conclusion--as one listen to the screams and mutilated guitars on the brutal "Fujiyama Attack" and "Roaring Blood" will show. Energy! Noise! Passion! Exhilaration! There's even a totally incomprehensible version of "Summertime Blues" thrown in. This is rock with a crowbar, a hammer--the works--taken to it.
