Castle Music. 2005.Even Though Two of the Most Prominent Members of Magnum Made-up the Ensemble that was Hard Rain, the Sound and Style Differed by the Adoption of a More Streamlined Songwriting Approach. Lyrically the Songs were More Accessible with the Distinct Absence of Fantastic Imagery and a Move Away from Previous Progressive Structures. Instead, Clarkin Refined his Technique and Offered Songs that Sought a Broader Appeal with a More Commercial Edge. Soulful Female Backing Vocals Added Further Layers and Gave the Finished Sound an Earthbound Spirit in Contrast to the Expected `other-worldly' Magnum Characteristic.
