IMAN CALIFATO INDEPENDIENTE is a legendary Spanish Progressive rock band. A first eponymous album threw the bases of a truly personal style, an introduction to the success of "Camino Del Aguila" (1980), a masterpiece that is now reissued by the Musea label. This quartet (Guitar-vocals, keyboards, bass & drums) performs a mainly instrumental music dipped into an easily noticeable Latin style, and that blends its Spanish roots to superb guitar parts that evoke Steve HOWE and Carlos SANTANA. At the crossroads of jazz-rock fusion, Progressive rock and flamenco influences, this mythical band developed a joyful music, quite energetic, luxurious, colourful, original and appealing. To be rediscovered urgently !
